Irish child abuse report a 'whitewash'; if so...then haven't we gone down this road before?

Earlier this decade, there was the North Wales child abuse tribunal, where kids; now, in 2001 men in ages from 25 to fifty were bunched up in a courthouse, miles away from anywhere to tell the tribunal of their memories from the late sixties to the mid-eighties. It was said that only a quarter of people who attended received some joy. There were many, who after seeing solicitors over a two year period in order to present a case, were quickly dropped after the tribunal. Will the same happen in the Republic, or will the press (Londoncentric or from anywhere else) keep it within their pages until all the sufferers get joy?
