Am I being too pessimistic?

Okay, my husband and I have been TTC for well over a year. He left over the summer to do a yr tour in Korea. He comes home for his mid-tour in March. A week and a half ago I had an HSG dye test done & my fallopian tubes seemed to not be blocked. Today I went in to get my progesterone levels checked. My OBGYN told me that even if everything came back normal/okay that'd she'd put me on clomid for the month of March when my DH comes home. Will going on clomid even if everything is fine REALLY increase my chances of conceiving?! I don't know but for some reason I don't see it really increasing the chances of us conceiving that month? I mean, I could be wrong but, isn't the only thing clomid does is produce a more mature follicle? So wouldn't that leave it still at a 25% chance just like every other month of conceiving?!
